Conformal Coating is a process in which a protective layer of Parylene is applied to electronic circuits to protect against dust, chemicals, and extreme temperatures. Uncoated surfaces are prone to damage and malfunction, hence the added protection becomes necessary for harsh environments.
In contrast to dipping and spraying techniques, the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) provides a vacuum like environment in which the Parylene particles coat all components and points of failure.
