ATP at the Movies — The Whole Company in One Cinema

ATP at the Movies — The Whole Company in One Cinema

2026-05-28

On 2025 Feb 8th , in the middle of the workday, ATP reserved an entire cinema and gave the team a few hours of company time to use it. Colleagues, partners, and children filed in carrying popcorn, found their seats, and waited for the lights to drop on a film Taiwan Unsung Hero that ATP had picked, paid for, and built into the day.

The screening is a small tradition, but the reasons behind it are not small. People who work in storage and memory spend long hours on problems most of the world will never see — firmware tuning, thermal characterisation, validation runs that take days to complete. A cinema reserved during work hours is a way of saying: this counts as a day at ATP too. Bring the people you go home to. Sit in the dark together. Watch something that has nothing to do with NAND.

ATP is a company of engineers and operators, but it is also a company of partners, kids, parents, and the lives that sit behind every employee on the org chart. The screening pulls all of that into one room for a couple of hours. The film is almost beside the point. What stays is the photo of the whole company filling the seats — a reminder, in the simplest possible form, of how many people are part of what ATP is.
